Sen. Stabenow and Senate Dems Say No to Alito

Many local Democrats have written called and e-mailed our two U.S. Senators to let them know just how strongly we felt about opposing the nomination of Samuel Alito to replace Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor.

Now comes word that the efforts of so many of our ICDP members especially local Dem activist Bob Busch have given our Democratic Senators the support they needed to voice their total opposition to the Alito nomination.

"Judge Alito has spent 15 years siding with the powerful at the expense of the rights of individuals. He is the wrong choice to replace Sandra Day O'Connor on the Supreme Court, where he could be making decisions impacting the rights of our children and grandchildren for the next 20 to 30 years," said Senator Debbie Stabenow.
