Should We Change Meeting Day?

Even though we had 35 folks attending our last monthly meeting we've heard a number of complaints about when we hold our monthly meetings. The first Thursday of the month apparently conflicts with many other things going on in the community although it has been a tradition to hold our meetings on that First Thursday. What do you think? should we change our monthly meeting dates and, if so, to what? The fourth Thursday, the second Monday, the third Sunday afternoon? Montcalm County has a potluck dinner meeting on a Sunday afternoon once a month. When do you think we should have our gatherings?

I think a potluck is a good idea, especially since the Barkers are always responsible for our current food. However, I think we should think carefully about selling it as a potluck. Some people might not come. Personally, I feel guilty attending potlucks without bringing food. And often I don't have time to make food to bring. So I don't usually go to potlucks. Just something to think about....

I think we should vote on the meeting day and time. Members could list their top three preferences. For example, 1. Thursday evening, 2. Sunday afternoon, 3. Saturday evening. Using traditional voting, this would be a nightmare because there probably wouldn't be a majority for any given meeting time. But I have an easy solution to that problem, which is too long to explain here, though very simple in practice, so ask if you're curious.
